Founded in 1990, The Housing Partnership, Inc. (HPI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit real estate development organization that creates affordable housing opportunities to encourage family stability, support communities, revitalize neighborhoods, and empower local economies. HPI is deeply invested in the goal of homeownership for those we serve. Our residents are encouraged to pursue their dreams of homeownership at every step of their HPI experience.
HPI was initially formed through a collaboration of civic leaders, community advocates, and financial institutions and has evolved over its 30+ year history to meet the affordable housing needs across Kentucky.
Through funding provided by public and private partnerships, HPI has leveraged nearly $1 billion in new affordable housing development and has built over 10,000 affordable housing units that serve low-income individuals and families. Quality of life is our measure of success.
HPI strives to be the leading agency that strengthens Kentucky housing and improves lives through education, preservation, and affordable housing development, with a focus in West and South Louisville neighborhoods. Financial security and independence for low-income families drive our work.
Clear the path to homeownership. Our HUD-certified Homebuyer Education program is nationally recognized for its commitment to excellence. It offers multi-faceted financial education that guides HPI residents step-by-step through homebuying. We work closely with residents to help them improve their credit, while connecting them to a network of non-predatory mortgage lenders and down-payment assistance programs. Our ultimate goal is to enable residents to achieve greater financial health, giving them more choices regarding quality housing.
Through public and private partnerships, HPI has leveraged nearly $1 billion in new affordable housing development and built over 10,000 affordable housing units for low-income individuals and families. In addition to our own development projects, we offer consulting services to other organizations who are seeking to create affordable housing.
I’ve never been in a program where I rent a house and they show me how to buy a house. I want to be a homeowner to simply invest in myself and to stop paying rent
